Food For Thought Seminar: Spring 2016

Hosted by the Chamber's Agribusiness and Bioscience Committee, join us for a Food For Thought Seminar, "Challenges & Opportunities of Feeding the World"

·         What is the landscape of getting the food supply to populations with increased consumption needs?

·         It is not an issue of IF we can grow the food, or IF there is demand for it, but HOW do we get it to consumers around the world?

·         What does biotech, trade, transportation and policy have to do with all of this?

We must double food production by 2050. This is a common statement often heard. But what does that actually mean for U.S. producers and global consumers? Producing enough food to feed the world is just one part of the equation. We also must tackle the logistical, infrastructure and policy challenges that will allow U.S. farmers to reach a growing world population and increasing middle class.

Matt Amick, Director of Grower Services with The Missouri Corn Growers Association (MCGA) will address these challenges and what associations such as MCGA are doing to be successful in these endeavors.

The breakfast starts at 7:30 a.m. with the presentation from 8 - 9 a.m. Cost of attend is $12 per person (with advanced registration, or $15 at the door). Your ticket includes a hot breakfast, beverages and a thought provoking seminar.
