The pre-registration cost per person is $20 ($25 for non-members). The online pre-registration will close at midnight on Friday, April 5th. After this deadline, guests may register and pay at the door. *Please note, space for walk-in guests is limited.*

Fifty years of service. Since 1969, Voluntary Action Center has reached out to the Boone County community to help struggling families. A half century ago, a group of community-minded citizens organized VAC to facilitate and encourage volunteerism. They recognized a growing need for a bridge between those wanted to help and those who most needed help. Through their vision, they created an organization designed to fill the void, a vision that continues to this day. Today the agency helps our neighbors by providing co-pays for medical purposes, work uniforms for new employees, school supplies for students, rent assistance for people who are homeless – and much, much more.

You may have been involved with VAC by sponsoring a family for our Holiday Program, collecting coats for Warm Up Columbia, or volunteering for Lunch in the Park. And you may have made a financial donation, making it possible for VAC to serve almost 7,000 adults and children in 2018 with these seasonal programs as well as the ongoing day-to-day services we provide year-round.

Supporting our neighbors in the areas of Health, Employment, Education, Housing, and Basic Needs, VAC is helping to bridge the gaps between crisis and stability. We do this because our community cares. Because it makes a difference. Because when those among us who struggle, struggle less, we all are better off.

We look forward to sharing more of the VAC story with you on April 10 at the Quarterly Membership Breakfast. Whether you know us well or only by name, you will be encouraged to know more about what VAC is doing for our community – your community.
